QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Despite the weather warm-up through the week, the ice held up on Marble Lake for the 63rd Quincy Chain of Lakes Tip Up Festival Saturday.
Ice fishermen and ORV’s dotted the lake off Tip Up Island through the day, while chainsaw wood carving, a squirrel hunting derby, and kids games took place on land.

A large craft show was housed in the pavilion, while also was the site of the Fisherman’s Ball featuring the band Pomegranate Whiskey Saturday night.
A highlight of the afternoon was the 43rd Annual Polar Bear Splash, with 47 participants of all ages jumping in and swimming across a hole cut in the ice.

That included 70-year-old Roy Peacock, who has done the Polar Bear Splash every year except one.

Money raised by the festival goes toward scholarships and improvements on the island.
