BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – A Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested by the Battle Creek Police Department on February 18, 2026, following an investigation into an alleged domestic assault.
The deputy, a probationary employee who had been in the Field Training Program for eight weeks, was subsequently arraigned and charged with domestic violence.
At the time of the incident, the individual had not yet been cleared for solo patrol duties.
In response to the charges, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office has placed the deputy on unpaid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation.
Sheriff’s officials emphasized their commitment to community trust and transparency, stating they are cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation. The office reiterated that it maintains the highest standards of accountability for all personnel, regardless of their length of service.
