Canadiens F Kirby Dach (upper body) out 2-4 weeks

Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach will miss two to four ​weeks with an ‌upper-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Dach sustained the injury after absorbing a hit ‌from ​Anaheim Ducks ⁠forward Jeffrey Viel ⁠early in the first period of Montreal’s 4-3 loss on Sunday. ​He was ruled out for the ⁠remainder of the ⁠contest.

Dach, 25, has ​recorded 14 points (eight goals, ​six assists) in 32 ‌games this season. He missed 31 contests earlier this season due ⁠to a fractured foot.

Dach has totaled 135 points (51 goals, 84 ⁠assists) ‌in 301 ⁠career games with the ​Chicago ‌Blackhawks (2019-22) and Canadiens. ​He ⁠was selected by the Blackhawks with the third overall pick of the 2019 NHL Draft.
