QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A multi-agency raid on a Butler Township property led to the arrest of a habitual offender and the discovery of a sophisticated illegal narcotics operation on Wednesday morning.
Members of the Marijuana and Tobacco Tax Investigation Section, supported by the MSP Emergency Services Team, executed a search warrant in the 900 of Clarendon Road, where they encountered 50-year-old Paul James Kealser.
Investigators uncovered 364 marijuana plants, far exceeding Kealser’s legal limit of 12, along with a butane hash oil (BHO) extraction lab located just 50 feet from the main residence.
Authorities also seized approximately 20 grams of psilocybin mushrooms from a safe and several hundred rounds of ammunition found inside a camper belonging to Kealser, who is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing such items.
The investigation further revealed evidence of a commercial enterprise operating under the brand “Extraction King Michigan.” Detectives recovered branded vape cartridges, THC gummies, and business cards identifying the owner as “Jamie,” a nickname Kealser admitted his friends use.
Beyond the drug manufacturing, officials located three utility trailers with altered or removed vehicle identification numbers (VINs).
Kealser now faces a litany of charges including manufacturing BHO, possession with intent to deliver, possession of psilocybin, and being a felon in possession of ammunition.
He remains in the Branch County Jail on a $25,000 bond and will be back in court on March 31.
