COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Secretary of State Office will close for one week starting Monday, as it moves to a temporary location. The office is scheduled to resume services at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 6, at 490 Marshall Street.
This move is necessary to accommodate an extensive remodeling project at the primary facility that includes a redesigned layout, the addition of a public restroom, and new exterior signage and siding.
State officials expect the renovations at the Vans Avenue building to be completed by September.
During the weeklong closure, residents are encouraged to use Michigan.gov/SOS for online transactions or visit the self-service station at the Meijer store on East Chicago Road for immediate renewals.
Those requiring in-person assistance before the new temporary office opens can schedule appointments at alternative branches in nearby Hillsdale or Sturgis.
