COLON, MI (WTVB) – Five-year-old Adam Clemans is being remembered by the Colon community as a life lost too soon following a tragic accident early Tuesday morning.
While the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, the focus for many has shifted to supporting Adam’s family.
The young boy, who was first reported missing from North Swan Street, was found unconscious in a nearby stream between Palmer and Sturgeon Lakes. Despite the swift efforts of multiple area rescue teams and emergency responders, the young child later passed away at a local hospital.
In a tribute to Adam’s memory and a show of solidarity for his grieving parents, the St. Joseph County United Way has established a Family Catastrophic Fund.

The organization has committed that 100% of all donations will go directly toward Adam’s funeral expenses, ensuring the family has the support they need during this unimaginable time.
