COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – State Representative Jennifer Wortz of Quincy, says her office has received numerous complaints on the condition of US-12 in the area of the I-69 interchange in Coldwater.
Last year state lawmakers approved a 24% wholesale tax on marijuana sales to account for nearly $1 billion to be budgeted for road repairs.
Wortz says there is good news, a complete resurfacing of US-12 is in the works but would not occur until 2028, she says however MDOT does has plans to smooth out that section of road yet this year.
Wortz said she tried to get the full resurfacing moved up on the MDOT schedule, but 2028 was the best they could do due to all the pre work that goes into scheduling a major road project
There is currently no timetable as of yet as to when those repairs could take place.
