QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Most of Wednesday’s high school sports slate for Branch County teams was cancelled in the aftermath of overnight storms. At Quincy High School, the Orioles’ triangular track meet with Bronson and Maple Valley went off without a hitch, and it was a successful meet for the Orange and Black.
The Quincy boys defeated Bronson 85-50 and Maple Valley 110-22, while the Vikings picked up a 94-22 win over the Lions. Quincy’s double winners were Chayse Jensen in the 800m and 1600m, along with Noah Rufenacht in the high jump and long jump. Bronson’s Dalton Hoard was a double winner in the 100m and 200m. Brayden Fritz won both the shot put and discus, and in the process, he broke the old Bronson school record in the discus by over 6 feet with his throw of 159′ 10″ .
Quincy’s girls prevailed over Bronson 98-25 and Maple Valley 90-38. The Vikings fell to the Lions 71-38. Brookelyn Parker was a double winner for the Lady O’s in the hurdle races, while Addison Hasten won the shot put and discus. For the Lady Vikes, Miriam Sanchez won the 800m and 1600m.
Quincy returns to action next Wednesday at Springport for a tri meet with Concord. Bronson travels to Reading next Wednesday for a dual meet.

As for Wednesday’s cancelled events:
- Union City’s tri meet at Alumni Field with Concord and Reading has been rescheduled for this Friday.
- Bronson’s baseball game at Prairie Heights will be played Friday afternoon.
- Bronson’s girls tennis match at Lansing Christian will be rescheduled, with the new date to be announced later. The Vikings are scheduled to compete at Galesburg-Augusta Thursday afternoon.
