BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The National Weather Service (NWS) said late Wednesday afternoon they were aware of storm damage caused during a pair of tornado warnings early Wednesday morning across the county.
Dustin Norman with the NWS said they were awaiting more detailed information from Branch County Emergency Management on the extent of the damage before making a determination if an actual tornado may have touched down.
Norman said the several rounds of storms the Northern Indiana NWS office has been investigating the past week, it has slightly delayed the investigation process but they do hope to have a determination later today.
The storm caused a large number of downed trees and power lines as well as structural damage including a destroyed barn and several damaged properties in Ovid and Batavia Townships.
