With 36% of Michiganders projected to travel more in 2026, local tourism is expected to boost a statewide industry that generated $54.8 billion in 2024.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Nick Nerbonne says they are looking to inspire travelers to experience the beauty, renewal, and sense of adventure available in this state over the next several months.
As the spring and summer seasons begin, regional businesses are balancing high demand with the need for staffing and seasonal housing, echoing trends affecting iconic destinations across Michigan. The initiative, running through July 31, aims to turn increased tourism interest into significant local economic impact.
