COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Terri Norris and John Vincent have officially qualified for the Branch County special prosecutor’s election following the this weeks filing deadline.
Norris, the current county public defender and former prosecuting attorney, will face Vincent, her own assistant public defender, in the August Republican primary.
The special election was triggered by the recent appointment of now former prosecutor Zach Stempien to a 15th Circuit Court judgeship, leaving two years remaining on his original term.
While the prosecutor’s race is currently a two-person Republican contest, other local filings and upcoming ballots have also taken shape. The Branch County Clerk has confirmed that voters will also decide on several school bond proposals for the Coldwater, Quincy, Colon, and Reading districts during the May 5 election.
