HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Erika Kirk, the CEO and chair of Turning Point USA, is set to deliver the keynote address at Hillsdale College’s 174th Commencement ceremony this Saturday.
Kirk stepped into her leadership role following the death of her husband, the organization’s founder Charlie Kirk, in September 2025. During the ceremony, the college will also award honorary degrees to both Erika and Charlie Kirk in recognition of their contributions to the conservative movement.
Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn praised Kirk for her resilience and dedication to carrying on her husband’s legacy, stating the college is honored to support her.
While the selection has sparked some debate among students regarding the political nature of the invitation, the event remains a cornerstone of the academic year for the 1,400 students on campus. The ceremony is closed to the public, but a livestream will be available on the college’s website starting Saturday morning.

Really Hillsdale?!?
Well, the college has lost my monthly donation support. To have that woman there, no, I’m not supporting that.
No one wants her here. It should have been Charlie speaking. Not her unfaithful self
Show up Saturday to protest against these demons
She is a horrible choice. I’d quit school before I listed to this skank
Praise God!!! She is an amazing woman who is filled with the Holy Spirit!! Thank you for coming to our community!!! I pray for protection over you!! Amen
