MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater joined eighteen other boys golf teams Friday at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall for the Matthew Krutsch Memorial Invitational, hosted by Hillsdale Academy. The Cardinals tied with Interstate 8 rival Jackson Northwest for third place with a team score of 330; both finished one shot ahead of fifth place Holt. Kalamazoo Christian won the event with their score of 315.
Joseph Searls led the Cardinals with his round of 77, which placed him in a three-way tie for ninth. Jack Aker and Braydon Wilkins each shot 83, Kolton Rice fired an 87, and Jake Fosdick carded an 88.
Coldwater returns to action Wednesday at Cedar Creek Golf Club in Battle Creek for the Interstate 8 Championship.
