COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council this evening will consider a proposed 3.9% water and 3.0% wastewater rate increase following a cost of service study by Utility Financial Solutions, LLC.
The study reviewed CBPU’s financial health and five-year capital plans, leading to a recommendation to adopt Resolution No. 26-50 to ensure utility infrastructure stability.
Supported by the CBPU Board, the proposed rates are scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026, if approved. City staff will continue monitoring financial conditions for future, necessary adjustments.
Those rate increases would add an estimated three dollars per month to the bill of the average household.
