Leonard Emerson Cooper, Jr., 73, of Coldwater passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, under the generous care of Oaklawn Hospice.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Pastor Mark Case of California Community Church will officiate. The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Leonard was born December 22, 1952 in Frankfurt, Michigan to Leonard Sr. and Sadie (McClellan) Cooper. He graduated from Frankfurt High School in 1970 and married Della Nichols June 4, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Leonard drove truck primarily, as well as worked several different factory positions.
Leonard enjoyed camping, fishing, watching old westerns and Star Trek, going to the casino, and above all else, spending time with family, especially his grandkids. Molly Mae, his chocolate lab had a special place in his heart and was always by his side.
Left to cherish Leonard’s memory is his wife; his children, Jasmine (Billy) Mock of Burr Oak, Sadie (Mike) Grandstaff of White Pigeon, Robin Shellenberger of Marshall, Rhonda (Steve Keene) Scheidler of Athens, and Rochelle (Mike) Shepard of Union City; many grandkids and 6 great-grandchildren, with two on the way.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Cooper.
