UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Alumni Field was the site for this year’s Big 8 Conference track meet. Quincy won the boys division with 159 points, Bronson was a distant second with 96 points, and Union City was sixth with 33 points. In the girls division, Union City finished second with 111-1/3 points, 33 points behind meet champion Concord. Quincy was third with 104 points, and Bronson tied with Stockbridge for sixth with 31 points.
The Orioles won nine events in the boys meet. Clayton Benson was first in both hurdle races, while Noah Rufenacht won both the high jump and long jump. Other winners include Noah Kelly in the 200m, Chayse Jensen in the 800m, and Hunter Walker in the 3200m. Quincy also won the 4x200m and 4x800m relays. For Bronson, Brayden Fritz was a double winner in the shot put and discus, and Dalton Hoard won the 100m.
In the girls division for Quincy, Brookelyn Parker was first in both hurdle races, Addison Hasten was a double winner in the shot put and discus, Elizabeth Longarder won the 400m, Riley Myers was first in the long jump. Union City’s Keira Taylor won the pole vault, and Bronson’s Miriam Sanchez was first in the 800m.
