The Midterms are coming, we’ll have to decide,
Do we stick with the Trump team, and stay on this ride?
Is the cult so intact, is the Kool Aid so sweet
That we all just go along with each deranged tweet?
Or will voters consider that there’s news beyond Fox?
Perhaps the time’s come to think outside the box.
To look at events and assign credit or blame,
And decide if these players still belong in the game.
So, why is a president creating memes late at night,
Where he’s dressed up as Jesus, in a heavenly light?
Or as a pilot dropping sewage on his foes from the sky,
Calling them “Dumocrats” – so clever, oh my.
“No new wars!” was the promise, “lower prices day-one.”
Yet prices for everything have shot up a ton.
“Groceries,” amazed him like he invented the word,
Meanwhile shoppers find grocery prices absurd.
Five dollars for gas, twenty bucks for a steak,
Exploding healthcare costs pushing budgets to break.
With Americans struggling, a ballroom we’ll build,
Rich folks can go dancing while our tanks go unfilled.
A big useless arch will block the Arlington view.
And that free ballroom offer, is now a billion; do I hear two?
The reflecting pool bottom’s getting painted; it’s blue,
The price is ten times what the estimate said DUE.
And now there’s a fund, filled with taxpayer dough,
To compensate felons, I think I vote no.
Inmates convicted by juries or even by plea
Got pardoned, and now we’ll be paying them a fee.
The turnout to riot at the next Capitol coup
Should be standing room only, there’s now revenue.
Cash to each felon, for beating brothers in blue.
I’m in for a million; maybe there’ll be two.
“Weaponized!” they call it, the Biden D-O-J,
Where any conviction then is now not OK.
But in today’s DOJ, the president just tells
His team to indict an ex-fed for seashells.

And let’s talk about wars; I heard we’re down eight.
Ukraine didn’t end day-one; did FOX check that date?
We’re now in Iran, spending a billion a day,
To open a straight, that was open pre-fray.
We’ll attack, no we’ll stop, first it’s yes and then no.
Why are we there? It seems the public should know.
We get informed via tweets, we’re being fed a line,
It’s a distraction; it worked, no one’s talking Epstein.
With fountains and arches, and painting a pool,
And tacky gold everywhere, and a ballroom so cool,
It seems like we’d have other things we should do,
Our priorities all seem to be somewhat askew.
And one more thing we worked on this week,
“No audits forever! It’s immunity we seek!”
For Trump and his kids, and cousins and kin,
The IRS can no longer even peek in.
Since Trump is the one who runs everything red,
And Fox News hasn’t told you much that I’ve said,
I suggest you consider the team now in play
And everyone show up when it comes voting day.
So here come the midterms. The question’s quite clear:
Do we stay on this wild ride, too filled with fear?
Or instead show some backbone, some logic and sense
And stand up to the madness, mount a defense.
I know I’ll hear pushback, derangement and such,
But I would ask back, “Are you that out of touch?”
Read the list one more time, with a non-biased eye,
And honestly tell me, this is normal; don’t lie.
Did our founders expect what we’ve come to this year?
Or is Trump what they tried to avoid, what they feared?
They warned of corruption, someone trying to be king,
Of someone who’d crush you if you won’t kiss the ring.
So please look at issues, let common sense reign,
What’s best for our nation, what makes us more sane?
Because this list I’ve compiled is by no means complete,
Just a few issues I could rhyme that would fit with a beat.
