COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Communities across Branch County Monday will honor the fallen men and women who died in service to our country with multiple Memorial Day ceremonies and parades.
The annual ceremony at the Four Corners Park in downtown Coldwater will begin at 10:00 a.m. WTVB will have live coverage on the radio.
Following the ceremony, a parade will step off around 10:30 a.m., heading west on U.S. 12. A wreath laying ceremony to honor those who served and died as Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard will take place the U.S. 12 bridge just outside Oak Grove Cemetery on Coldwater’s west side, before another ceremony at the Gathering of Flags War Memorial in the south portion of Oak Grove Cemetery.
In Union City, the Memorial Day parade will begin at the high school and continue to Riverside Cemetery. There will be several stops on the way, including on the North Broadway Street bridge, Veterans Memorial Park, and the Civil War Memorial at the First Congregational Church, to lay wreaths.
The Village of Quincy’s Memorial Day parade begins at 11:oo a.m. at the American Legion Post. The parade will travel west from the American Legion on Chicago Street to West Street and then into Lakeview Cemetery for a service of remembrance.
American Legion Post 259 will host ceremonies at the Bronson Cemetery off Wayne Street at 10:00 a.m. Monday.
