QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy High School Athletic Director Lucas Meyer announced late last week that Bryce Williams was hired to succeed Connor Aemisegger as the head coach of the Orioles’ varsity boys basketball team.
Williams graduated from Archbold (OH) High School in 2017, where he was a 1,000-point scorer, an All-State selection, and a key member of the school’s 2017 basketball team that made it to the OHSAA Semifinals. He went on to play four years at Trine University, earning All-MIAA Honors twice and helping lead the Thunder to conference championships in 2018 and 2021. He moved into the coaching ranks after graduation, returning to Archbold as a varsity assistant for one season before joining the Fremont High School staff. Most recently, he has served as a varsity assistant and eighth grade head coach for the Eagles.
Williams said in the press release announcing his hire, “It is an honor to be named the next Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Quincy High School. I’m excited for the opportunity to work with our student-athletes and become part of the Quincy community. The players, community, and staff will bring an excitement to basketball in Quincy. I cannot wait to be apart of this community and continue building something our school and community can be proud of.”
Meyer added, “Bryce impressed us throughout the hiring process with his passion for basketball, energy, and vision for building our program the right way. He has been surrounded by winning basketball throughout his career and understands the importance of culture, accountability, and relationships. Most importantly, he is committed to providing a great experience for our student-athletes both on and off the court. We are excited to welcome Bryce to Quincy and look forward to the future of Quincy Basketball under his leadership.”
