COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A committee made up of employees from Branch County buildings has selected Michael Plyley to take over as the County’s Complex Manager.
Plyley currently works in the Building and Grounds Department and has worked in various county departments over the years. He will take over for his current boss Scott Walls who will be retiring as County Complex Manager on July 6.
Plyley was one of three applicants who were interviewed by the committee for the position on Wednesday.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners are expected to formally approve Plyley’s hiring during their meeting next Tuesday.
Committee Chair Amy Duff said Plyley is familiar with county properties and facilities. In addition, Duff said he has shown responsiveness on work orders, initiated projects to improve county grounds and takes pride in his work across all county owned properties.
Duff also stated Plyley has demonstrated that communication is a top priority for him and he is cognizant of budgets.
According to the county’s web site, the maintenance department is responsible for the safe operation of nine buildings operated by the county.
