COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Supply chain bottlenecks and regulatory delays have temporarily halted progress on the Phase 1 renovation of Rotary Park.
According to City Manager Keith Baker, Parrish Excavating, the project’s primary contractor, has been forced to pause operations while awaiting the delivery of concrete light pole bases from their vendor.
Beyond the immediate material shortage, the second phase of the park’s expansion faces its own administrative hurdles. The City of Coldwater is currently waiting on the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) to approve required environmental permits.
Baker says the city cannot move forward with bidding out Phase 2 of the improvement project until these state approvals are secured, leaving the overall completion timeline for up in the air for now
