COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A water service project kicked off this morning in Coldwater, prompting lane closures and traffic shifts on a busy stretch of US-12.
Beginning today at 8:00 a.m., construction crews initiated saw-cutting operations on the highway between Lincoln Street and Morse Street .
To accommodate the heavy machinery and ensure worker safety, officials have closed two westbound lanes, forcing all affected traffic to shift directly into the eastbound lanes.
Motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution and expect minor delays when traveling through the active construction zone .
The disruption is expected to be brief, as contractors project the water service upgrades will wrap up by Wednesday afternoon . Commuters are encouraged to plan ahead, consider alternate routes, or allow extra travel time until the lanes safely reopen tomorrow.
