Anna was born February 3, 1943 in Coldwater, Michigan, to Benjamin and Genevieve (Worthington) Burk. She graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1961.
June 30, 1961 Anna married the love of her life, Duane D. Henion, in Kinderhook. Together they had two children, and built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. Duane preceded her in death January 15, 2012.
Following Duane’s passing, Anna was blessed to find love and companionship again with Johnnie F. Holt of Coldwater. The two shared 14 wonderful years together, creating cherished memories and enjoying life’s adventures side by side.
Anna dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked for ten years as a nurse aide at the Community Health Center of Branch County and served patients at Dr. Norris’ office in Quincy.
She was a dental assistant for Dr. Chan for five years and later worked in Litchfield for four years. Continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others, Anna owned and operated Anna’s Adult Foster Care Homes for ten years before her retirement.
A faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Coldwater, Anna was actively involved in numerous community organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Positive Partners for Parenting, and 4-H. She also opened her heart and home to many foster children throughout the years, providing love, guidance, and support to those in need.
Anna found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, knitting, painting, and dancing. She had a special love for animals and cherished the companionship they brought throughout her life.
Anna is survived by her children Todd (Melissa) Henion of Florida, Michelle Smith of Marshall; her companion Johnnie Holt of Coldwater; her brother Ben Burk of Tennessee and sister Ella (Dale) Hinderliter of Hamilton, OH; her grandchildren Cory (Erin) Smith, Terry (Tamara) Smith, Austin (Yinet) Henion, Chelsea (Luke) Villard; many great grandchildren; and her caretaker and friend, Dawn Carr and her family.
