ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Deputy Karson Meeks was named the National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Deputy Sheriff of the Year.
A three-year veteran, Meeks was honored in Omaha, Nebraska, with the Charles “Bud” Meeks Deputy Sheriff of the Year for Merit award, recognizing his work as a patrol deputy and specialist in crash reconstruction.
Meeks, a native of Fremont and a Trine University graduate, was lauded by leadership for his professionalism, technical expertise, and compassionate service on the Steuben County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team.
His dedication to community service and professional development earned him the national award, representing the highest standards of the law enforcement profession
