COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission officially approved a plan to bring a new Dunkin’ Donuts to Coldwater.
The upcoming coffee and pastry shop will establish its new location at 515 East Chicago Street, taking over the building that formerly housed an Advance Auto Parts store.
Representing the development applicant, engineer Matt Cole told the commission that Dunkin’ will occupy roughly one-third of the newly remodeled 6,700-square-foot structure, with the remaining space designated for future retail tenants.
To accommodate morning commuters, the new location will feature a dedicated drive-thru lane built along the west side of the property, alongside extended parking layout adjustments.
During the review process, local city officials raised minor traffic management and safety concerns regarding eastbound drivers trying to make tight left turns into the property from US-12.
In response, developers agreed to implement specialized directional signs, clear pavement markings, and a “No Left Turn” visual indicator to safely route drive-thru traffic toward Teeter Drive and reduce highway congestion.
No timeline for construction or a potential opening has been established.

lol, people don’t read the signs in this community. We already have a don’t turn left sign across the street from that gas station by Walmart where the Chinese restaurant is nobody follows the sign you see people turning the wrong way all the time and you see accidents there all the time. So I’m going to guess we’re probably gonna see a lot of accidents on there also
