BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council is set to consider replacement of 213 street signs due to severe, premature fading of the current signage when they meet later this evening .
The existing purple signs, which prominently feature the local Vikings school logo, have not held up well over time, prompting city to recommend a return to a more durable design.
To maximize longevity and eliminate future visibility issues, the city proposes switching to a standard white background with high-contrast black lettering.
The council will entertain a pair of bids this evening, with Dornbos Sign submitting the lowest quote at $9,782.00. The alternative option from Brimar (Safety Sign) came in significantly higher at $16,625.43.
While the council is excepted to go with the cost-effective Dornbos Sign proposal, the council will also review design mockups to decide whether to retain the traditional school logo or transition to the official City logo on the new, fade-resistant signage.
