COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Mayor Tom Kramer began last nights City Council meeting addressing the abundant rumors circulating on social media concerning data centers in the city of Coldwater.
During last weeks Planning Commission meeting committee members voted to move forward with establishing stringent ordinances to restrict a data centers flexibility and the locations they would be permitted within the city limits and that triggered an online backlash from several who misunderstood the plan commissions intentions, and the mayor felt that needed to be addressed.
Kramer said by state law you can’t not allow them but the city can place strict restrictions
The city would be in step with similar ordinances recently advanced by both Quincy and Girard Townships to place restrictions on data centers.
