COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) has fined Mint Cannabis in Coldwater $8,000 after state inspectors discovered the business went more than a month without recording required security camera footage.
According to state records, a routine semiannual inspection on December 22, 2025, revealed that the store’s video surveillance system was entirely down.
Regulators later determined that a 34-day recording gap occurred between November 18 and December 21, 2025, violating Michigan rules that mandate cannabis establishments to retain surveillance footage for at least 30 days.
In a consent order finalized by CRA Executive Director Brian Hanna, the dispensary’s parent company, Green Bronco LLC, chose not to contest the allegations.
The owners attributed the surveillance lapse to a technical malfunction and an unexecuted system reboot.
While the system was confirmed fully operational during a January 2026 follow-up visit, Mint Cannabis has since implemented new daily auditing procedures to prevent future recording failures.
