Lee Eugene Edwards, 75, of Burlington, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 30, 2026 in Burlington Township.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union City Wesleyan Church, 202 St. Joseph Street, Union City, MI with Pastor Dan Maurer officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Union City. A luncheon will follow interment, also at the church.
Visitation will be held for one hour just prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., also at the church.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation.
Lee was born February 4, 1951, to Richard and Ruth (Seganti) in Denver, Colorado. Lee proudly served in the United States Army, working on tanks.
September 19, 1970, Lee married Clara Willerick at the Pennfield Nazarene Church. She preceded him in death April 20, 2025.
Lee worked as a Yard Supervisor at Griswald’s in Union City before retiring.
Lee had a great love for piloting hot air balloons. He also enjoyed sprint cars. Lee served as Village President for Burlington years ago, was a member of the Fredonia Grange, and volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Lee is survived by his children, Michele “Mickey” Edwards of Burlington and Albert (Brittany Nelson) Edwards of Union City; his grandchildren, Maria (Dick) Mynhier, Cody Edwards, Tristen Sebolt, Dylan (Kenzie) Edwards, Dalton Edwards, Lucas Edwards, and Brantlee Edwards; his great-grandchild, Remington Edwards; his mother; his siblings, Richard “Dicky” (Peggy) Edwards of Battle Creek, Laura (Bob) Reppert of Battle Creek, Christine (Scot) Flanders of Marshall, and Penny (Bill) Hart of Battle Creek.
In addition to his wife, Clara, Lee was preceded in death by his father; several aunts and uncles.
