COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 96th edition of the Branch County Fair, with the theme “96 YEARS OF FAIR JAM…BRINGING OUR ‘A’ GAME SINCE 1929,” officially begins Sunday and runs through next Saturday, August 15 at the fairgrounds in Coldwater.
The annual fair parade will leave the from the west gate of the fairgrounds Saturday at around 3:45 p.m., traveling north on Jefferson Street, with parade entries expected to hit Chicago Street in downtown Coldwater around 4:00 p.m. The parade route continues west through downtown to Clay Street, then heads south back to the fairgrounds.
There will be be judging of non-livestock and club landscaping today, with the Branch Buds Animal Show in the Show Shelter at 6:00 p.m.
Branch County 4-H Program Coordinator Megan Wilczynski says the 4-H Foundation is holding their annual corn hole tournament outside the show shelter at 7:00 p.m.
The fair officially opens at 12:00 p.m. Sunday with limited food and no rides.
The 40th Annual Gospel Concert will run from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Cabin Pavilion, followed by the crowning of the Branch County Fair King and Queen. This year’s court includes Abbigal Ferry, Laurisa Johns and Veronica Bir for queen. King candidates include Garrett Gruner, Adam Franks and Austin Preston.
