KALAMAZOO,MI (WTVB) – Western Michigan University expanded its automated transfer initiative, the Bronco Bound Guarantee, to include Battle Creek-based Kellogg Community College.
The institutions finalized the agreement during a formal signing ceremony at the WMU Student Center. Under this expanded program, eligible KCC students who complete an associate degree and meet specific academic and conduct guidelines are assured automatic admission to WMU starting this fall.
This partnership aims to build a clear, stress-free academic roadmap, eliminating traditional application barriers and credit-loss anxieties for transferring students.
Beyond guaranteed enrollment, the partnership establishes built-in financial incentives and cultural integration for incoming transfers. Eligible KCC students will automatically receive consideration for WMU scholarships ranging from $500 to $3,000 annually to offset tuition costs.
Additionally, all KCC students will receive complimentary admission to most Bronco varsity athletic events to foster a sense of campus community early on.
WMU President Russ Kavalhuna says the program’s intent to provide financial relief and boost workforce development across Michigan, building upon a similar automatic admissions pathway previously established with Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
