UNION TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) — A 26-year-old woman died after crashing an ATV into a tree in Branch County’s Union Township Friday night, state police say.
The 26-year-old Union City woman was driving an ATV on Sullivan Road near Braucker Road around 9 p.m. and trying to pass another vehicle when state police say she lost control and hit a tree.
First responders attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an MSP news release the operator was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
MSP says the crash remains under investigation; the woman’s identity was not released.
The Union City Fire Department and LifeCare EMS assisted at the scene.
