QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – A new worship and community center is planned in Quincy, after the village council this week approved the sale of a vacant lot at 14 East Chicago Street to the current owners of the Refuge Coffee House.
Mike and Dawn Bracy will pay $20,050 for the lot, which is across the street from their current location. They say a new building constructed on the lot will host their monthly worship nights, which have outgrown their current location.
The lot formerly was the site of six sheds that were used for seasonal businesses, but the sheds were sold earlier this summer as project never gained traction.
The new building is expected to feature a brick façade and may include design elements inspired by historic photos of downtown Quincy.
The Refuge Coffee House has been operating for around six years, and last year expanded into a building next door on the south side of U.S. 12.
