Betty Lou Walker passed away on August 20, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services for Betty Lou Walker will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12 Noon at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Burial will follow at East Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Betty was born on November 26, 1941, to Charles and Virginia (Byers) Carpenter. She was a lifelong resident of Branch County. She worked at Shaw Shoe in Coldwater until its closing and then for many years at Carriage Inn. She was active in 4-H as a project leader in the Ghost Riders 4-H Club. She loved being at the Branch County Fair and never missed a year. She also loved going to the horse shows and watching her grandkids show. She had a love for all animals and leaves behind her beloved dog, Rambo.
She is survived by her sister, Deb (Rick) Morris of Coldwater; children, Julie Gibson of Coldwater, Lori Leyo of Fremont, Mary (Tim) Shook of Fremont, Nancy (Rex) Walker of Coldwater, John (Heather) Herbert of Webberville, MI, and Kenny (Joan) Reed of Sherwood; grandchildren, Nichole (Marcus) Simon, Gerald (Lyndi) Gibson, Hunter Gibson, Jessica (Bill) Jefferies, Danny Smith, Amanda (Josh) Cleckner, Travis Walker, Genesis Herbert, Faith Herbert, Zoay Herbert, Hope Herbert, Dusty Smith and Michael (Abby) Holman; and great-grandchildren, Allison, Charlie, Chase (Chaselynn), Blayn, Aadyn, Jade (Anthony), Charlee, Haylee (Cody), Kaylee, Josh, Jr., Ashton, Savanna, Konnor, Zeke and Catherine; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Walker.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Branch County 4-H Ghost Riders Club.
