After the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) upheld its final denial of individual assistance grants earlier this month, state emergency officials are urging affected homeowners, renters, and business owners to submit their applications immediately before the window closes.
Funding remains accessible exclusively through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), which is utilizing the final day of a 60-day standard grace period to offer low-interest disaster loans to assist in the recovery.
These SBA loans serve as the final avenue of federal support to address unmet financial gaps, offering coverage for home repairs, personal property loss, vehicle damage, and debris removal.
There is no fee to submit an application today, and residents face no obligation to accept the funds if their request is approved.
