QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Quincy will begin flushing hydrants starting on Monday.
According to an official Village of Quincy announcement, the routine maintenance program is scheduled to run through Thursday, September 3. The seasonal process is necessary for clearing mineral sediments from the public water mains and ensuring the local system remains in proper working order.
During this four-day period, local residents may notice temporary drop-offs in water pressure or slight discoloration in their household tap water.
Village officials advise community members to check their water before use and run their cold water faucets until they flow clear if any cloudiness or rust tones appear.
Additionally, it is highly recommended that homeowners run an empty washing machine cycle prior to doing laundry to guarantee that clothing does not become discolored by stirred-up sediment.
