COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater says that the Splash Park restrooms at Heritage Park were vandalized on the evening of September 1, just one day after renovations were completed.
Surveillance video captured a group of young individuals around 7:24 p.m. carrying buckets of mud into the men’s restroom and deliberately throwing it onto the walls and floors.
Officials emphasize that these facilities serve every family, child, and visitor who uses Heritage Park and are funded by taxpayers and maintained with public resources.
City leaders are asking the public for help identifying those involved and urge anyone with information to contact the City or Central Dispatch.
They also encourage residents to clean up after using pavilions, soccer, or ball fields, report any graffiti or vandalism, and for parents and guardians to discuss with their children the importance of respecting park facilities. “If you see something, say something,” city officials said, noting that public spaces are monitored and acts of vandalism can be documented.
