Betty Lou Bean, 92, of Quincy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Beacon Hospital in Kalamazoo.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home – George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
She was born September 22, 1933 in Coldwater, Michigan to Joseph and Ona (Boone) Lothamer. Betty married Richard Bean Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Betty was the first female employee at Acorn Building Components in Quincy where she worked as a supervisor for 25 years and later retired after over 30 years of service.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Coldwater. Betty was a lifelong hunter and outdoorswoman who enjoyed deer, rabbit, and small game hunting with her family up into her nineties. Betty loved being in nature mushroom hunting, feeding her birds, boating on Marble Lake, and cane pole fishing for bluegill.
Family was her number one priority, and Betty especially enjoyed spending summer vacations at the lake, and hosting holiday dinners.
Survivors include four children, Patricia (Ronnie) Lampman, Michael (Neilayne) Bean, Ronald Bean, and Richard (Cheryl) Bean Jr.; eleven grandchildren, Sonja Griswold, Amanda Miller, Derrick (Courtney) Bean, Callie (Chuck) Callahan, Greg (Shanna) Buckley, Kristy Buckley, Tera Bean, Dr. Ryan (Alissa) Bean, Alissa (Dakota) Finley, Dr. Kelsey (Tyler Powell) Bean, and Haley Bean; eleven great-grandchildren, Connor, Brittany, Brandon, Miles, Keller, Dylan, Sadie, Aiden, Ellis, Natalie, and Harrison; one great-grandson Bean on-the-way; and one sister, Theresa Benjamin.
In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gary and Tom Bean; and eleven siblings, Mary Ann Flynn, Shirley Licht, Linda Clark, Floyd Lothamer, Jimmy Lothamer, Bob Lothamer, Paul Lothamer, David Lothamer, Donald Lothamer, Alfred Lothamer, and Edward Lothamer.
