COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 37-year- old Coldwater man faces multiple drug charges after a traffic stop last Thursday.
Branch County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted the traffic stop on Chicago Road near Sprague Street in the City of Coldwater. Sherifg Fred Blankenship says during the stop, deputies developed information indicating that the driver may be in possession of illegal narcotics.
He says as the investigation continued, the driver, Carl Robert Striggow, was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
Deputies conducted a further search of the vehicle and located additional items consistent with the sale and
distribution of narcotics.
With assistance from the Coldwater Police Department, deputies subsequently conducted a search of Striggow’s residence. During the search, deputies located additional suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, along with other evidence consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Striggow was lodged in the Branch County Jail. The Branch County Prosecutor’s Office has formally charged Striggow with:
Count 1 – Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture – Methamphetamine
Count 2 – Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture – Narcotic/Cocaine
Count 3 – Habitual Offender
As of this time, Striggow remains lodged in the Branch County Jail on a $75,000 cash or surety bond.
