BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host a public open house on Tuesday, Sept. 22, to discuss a planned 2027 resurfacing and road configuration project on US-12 in Bronson.
The meeting will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bronson City Hall, located at 141 S. Matteson St., city residents, business owners, and city representatives are encouraged to attend to meet with MDOT staff and contractors, review project details, and provide feedback on the upcoming construction.
The proposed project, tentatively scheduled to last for about four weeks during the summer of 2027, involves chip and fog sealing US-12 between Albers Road and Wayne Street.
A major component of the plan includes traffic calming measures aimed at improving motorist and pedestrian safety, specifically by converting the existing four-lane roadway into a three-lane configuration with a dedicated center left-turn lane.
Those who plan on attending who require special accommodations for mobility, visual, hearing, or language assistance are asked to contact MDOT’s Orlando Curry at least five business days prior to the meeting.
