Janet Marie Murray, 67, of Quincy passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 in Quincy.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Visitation will be held that morning from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
She was born August 26, 1959 to Grace Miller in Wayne, MI. Janet married the love of her life, Kevin Murray, and they spent 45 wonderful years together.
Janet was truly a selfless woman with a heart of gold. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and tender-hearted friend whose kindness touched the lives of so many.
Her family was the center of her world, and in many ways, Janet was the center of theirs. She had a remarkable way of making each person feel loved, valued, and cared for, and there was seemingly nothing she wouldn’t do for someone she loved.
Janet’s caring nature extended far beyond her own family. She had a special place in her heart for children and devoted much of her life to serving and caring for the children at Legg Middle School. Her patience, compassion, and genuine concern for each child made a lasting difference in the lives of those she encountered. Janet didn’t simply care for people, she cared about them, and that distinction was evident in everything she did.
Those who knew Janet will remember her for her generous spirit, gentle heart, and willingness to always put others before herself. Whether she was offering a helping hand, listening when someone needed to talk, or simply being there for the people she loved, Janet gave of herself freely and without expectation. Her love was sincere, her friendship was genuine, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her.
Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished the time spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren and treasured the many moments they shared together. Her love for them was unwavering, and the lessons of kindness, compassion, and selflessness she lived each day will remain a lasting part of her family’s lives. Though Janet will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family and friends will carry with them the memories of a remarkable woman who spent her life caring for others and making the world a little kinder simply by being in it.
In addition to her husband, Kevin Murray of Quincy, MI, Janet leaves behind her children Jody (Matt) Peczynski of Southgate, MI, Jennifer (Brandon) Graves of Wayne, MI, Kimberly (Carl) Murray of Shelby Township, MI, Jackie Murray of Ann Arbor, MI; her brother James (Barb) Hargrove of Taylor, MI; her grandchildren Jade, Kayven, Jozlyn, Olesya, Sophie, Jasmine, Nicole, Mason, Lucas, Jaxon, Alex, Hunter, Austin, Ashley, Alyssa, Shawn, Joey, Alyxa, Sawyer; her many loving nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Duke.
She was preceded in death by her mother Grace Hargrove.
Memorial donations are suggested to Legg Middle School in Coldwater.
