Daniel John Hanna, 78, of Union City, Michigan passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026 at his home, under hospice care, surrounded by his family.
In keeping with his wishes, Daniel will be cremated and a celebration of life gathering will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI.
Daniel was born November 5, 1947 to John and Elaine (Miller) in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1965. Shortly after high school, Daniel proudly served in the United States Army.
In 1965, Daniel married Barbara Huss. She preceded him in death in 2012. August 30, 2013, Daniel married Mary Wells in Centreville, Michigan.
Daniel worked as a casting maintenance engineer for Asama Coldwater Manufacturing before retiring in 2011.
Daniel enjoyed playing racquetball, volleyball, refereeing volleyball games, and woodworking furniture.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, John (Melissa) Hanna of Coldwater, Amy (Todd) Goodwin of Olympia, WA; his stepchildren, Dawn (Tony) Tyndall of Battle Creek, Denise Temple of Battle Creek, and Danielle(Kerry Dulin) Osborne of Homer; his grandchildren, Brendan (Jenna) Hanna of Lansing, and Connor Hanna of Grand Rapids; his siblings, Susan Frook of Union City, David (Vicky) Hanna of Battle Creek, and Lorna (John) Fuller of Quincy.
Daniel was preceded in death his parents; and his sister, Sharon Bell.
