ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Former Steuben County Sheriff’s Detective Jordan Trippe has been indicted by a grand jury on a Level 5 felony charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The 39-year-old Trippe, was officially charged following an indictment filed in the Steuben County Judicial Center.
Following the indictment, Trippe was released on bond with a strict no-contact order to protect the alleged victim and a stipulation that he cannot possess any weapons.
Trippe’s career in local law enforcement spanned over a decade, starting with the Fremont Police Department from 2011 to 2019 before he was hired by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Before his resignation in July, Trippe served as the primary point of contact for the sheriff’s department’s Sex and Violent Offender Registration unit.
An initial court hearing for Trippe has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on November 9.
