COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- The temporary resurfacing of a rough stretch of Marshall Street is scheduled to begin this week, that is expected to cause some traffic delays to northbound motorists.
The milling of the east (northbound) lane of Marshall Street between Church Street and Branch Avenue will take place on Tuesday, prepping the heavily patched corridor for a fresh layer of asphalt. Following the initial milling, crews are scheduled to return for final paving operations on Thursday of this week weather permitting, completing a much needed interim fix
The project will require a single-lane closure throughout the duration of the work, reducing traffic capacity along the busy stretch of Marshall Street.
City officials and road crews encourage motorists to plan for minor delays, seek alternative routes if possible, and drive cautiously through the work zone to ensure the safety of construction personnel.
This short-term resurfacing aims to smooth out the bumpy patchwork left behind by recent lead line replacements until a more comprehensive, long-term reconstruction of Marshall Street can be completed.
