COLDWATER, MI, (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater has scheduled its fall brush collection for next Monday, October 5.
City Manager Keith Baker says residence should have the brush to be picked up prior to Monday morning
Baker also says city ordinance and state law prohibit burning in the city limits
All materials must be placed at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on the morning of the pickup. City crews will make a single pass through the city neighborhoods, meaning any brush put out after the workers have swept through will not be collected.
Residence are asked to follow several safety and preparation rules. All brush should be neatly stacked with the cut ends facing toward the street, and individual pieces must not exceed eight inches in diameter. The city will strictly refuse any root systems or dirt-clogged stumps.
Furthermore, residents are asked to keep the sidewalks, streets, and driveways completely clear, and to avoid stacking debris around utility poles, fire hydrants, or sign posts. Those who miss the scheduled curbside collection can still utilize the city’s municipal compost site located at 45 Industrial Ave.
Baker also says bagged yard waste will continue to be picked up on Mondays until the first snow of the season.
