WASHINGTON, D.C. — 5th District Congressman Tim Walberg joined lawmakers from Michigan and Ohio to introduce the bipartisan Regional Great Lakes Partnership Act to enhance federal conservation and research support by officially designating the Great Lakes Commission as a formal Regional Great Lakes Partnership under NOAA.

Championed by a bicameral group including Reps. Dave Joyce, Marcy Kaptur, Debbie Dingell, and Tom Barrett alongside Senators Gary Peters and Bernie Moreno, the legislation addresses a previous exclusion from NOAA’s Regional Ocean Partnerships Program to secure vital coastal funding and resources.
