FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – At around 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning, crews from the Fremont Fire Department were called to a property just over the Indiana-Michigan border in the 7800 block of 950 E. for a reported barn fire.
When the first crews arrived on scene, they found flames overwhelming a barn and reaching towards a nearby garage and semi-truck.
As the firefighters began working to put out the flames, they called for mutual aid from the Montgomery, Camden, Reading, and Lakeland Fire Departments, who responded with additional tankers and firefighters.
While those crews were busy putting out the fires, the Orland Fire Department was put on standby to cover any additional calls in the Fremont district.
The fire was finally extinguished after two hours.
No injuries were reported. The cause of that blaze and dollar amount of the loss are still under investigation.
