Betty Jean Ward, 90, of Coldwater, passed away peacefully at her home October 2, 2026.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Betty was born September 5, 1936 in Coldwater to Henry Dove and Mary Pettit. She married Donald F. Ward July 3, 1972, in Union City, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Many of those years have been spent as a loving caregiver to Don.
Betty worked at Quality Springs as a machine operator for 40 years, retiring in 1998. In her free time, she loved spending time working outdoors at their Doves Landing property keeping the landscape beautiful and working in their vegetable garden. She always enjoyed keeping busy.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially teaching her grandchildren how to cook and bake, making memories to last a lifetime.
Betty is survived by her husband, Don Ward of Coldwater; her children Roxane (Gardner) Weber, Donna (Neil) Woodward, Laurie Goodwin, Christopher (Betsy) Ward; her sister Marian Migala; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Jane Booth, Harry Dove, Jack Dove, Dale Dove; her daughter Brenda Gilbert; and son in law Ralph Goodwin. She is also survived by her dear friends Tammy and Digger Shepperd.
