BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Police Department has issued a formal reminder to city residents regarding local parking regulations, noting a recent surge in complaints about vehicles parked on lawns.
According Bronson Police, City Ordinance (F)(1) strictly prohibits the parking of any vehicle within a front yard on an unapproved surface.
Police department representatives acknowledged that many community members may be unaware of the rule, but emphasized that compliance is necessary to maintain community standards and ensure neighborhood safety.
Residents seeking additional information can review the full City of Bronson Code of Ordinances online.
Under the specific text of the ordinance, parking in front yard areas is only permitted if the vehicle is on an improved surface, which is defined as a designated parking strip, parking bay, driveway, garage, or a combination of these elements located on the property.
The code also outlines several other prohibited parking areas, including sidewalks, crosswalks, intersections, and blocking public or private driveways or alleys.
To encourage compliance, the department announced that citation fines for violations will range from $20.00 to $40.00, depending heavily on the frequency of the offenses.
Police are asking all residents to assist the community by refraining from lawn parking immediately.
