KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 39-year-old Coldwater woman faces multiple felony charges following a suspected road rage incident on Sunday in Kinderhook Township.
Misty Dawn Doenges was arraigned on Monday, in Branch County 3A District Court on counts of carrying a concealed weapon, reckless driving, and two counts of felonious assault.
According to criminal complaints, the confrontation began on Southern Road when Doenges allegedly exited her minivan at the intersection of Southern and S. Angola roads to confront another vehicle.
Witnesses reported that she opened her vehicle’s hatch, retrieved a 9mm Taurus pistol from a red bag, and pointed it directly at them before they fled and contacted the the Sheriff’s Department.
Branch County Sheriff’s deputies used license plate details and witness photographs to identify Doenges and execute a search warrant at her Coldwater home, where the firearm was subsequently recovered.
While Doenges acknowledged ownership of the handgun, she denied pointing it at anyone during the altercation.
District Judge Brent R. Weigle set her bond at $25,000 cash or surety and ordered that she barred from possessing any firearms while the case remains pending.
Doenges bonded out ofthe Branch County Jail on Tuesday and is scheduled for a probable-cause conference on October 13, followed by a preliminary examination on October 20.
